Metformin – Is an oral hypoglycemic (Glucophage® ) for the monotherapy of diabetes mellitus of type II (non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus or impaired glucose tolerance). Metformin also provides positive treatment success in combination with sulfonylurea drugs or insulin when required. Metformin improves insulin resistancy, reduces blood sugar production in the liver and improves the glucose utilization in tissue. In comparison with other antidiabetics Metformin therapy does not result in hypoglycaemic states. In addition, Metformin produces weight loss in obese diabetics. Bisoprolol- (Concore®) – belongs to the group of beta receptor blockers which are used for the treatment of high blood pressure and coronary heart diseases. It possesses the highest selectivity for the B1-receptors of the cardiovascular system and its optimized pharmacokinetics profile distinguish Bisoprolol from its competitors. B-Vitamins – Neurobion® is a combination of vitamins B1, B6 and B12. It is available in different presentations and dosages and is used in these neurological disorders due to Vitamin B deficiency such as polyneuropathy and neuralgia. Experimental evidence shows that the combined use of analgesics/ antirheumatic agents and B-Vitamins leads to a lower requirement for analgesics/antirheumatic agents. Neurobion is marketed in many countries worldwide. Lonazolac Calcium- Exflame® is a non-steroidal, anti inflammatory drug used in the treatment of inflammatory conditions of various origin. Exflame’s main advantage over other NSAIDs in the market is its potent anti-inflammatory property and outstanding safety profiles. It is licensed product from another German company, Byk Gulden. Levothyroxine - Euthyrox® is the hormonal treatment of choice for subclinical and manifest hypothyroidism. Euthyrox aggressively takes on the mission of helping patients live active and normal lives. Euthyrox provides a precise and flexible theraphy for hypothyroidism. Potassium Iodide – Jodid 100® is the right measure of Iodine for the prevention and treatment of iodine deficiency disorders. Naftidrofuryl - Praxilene® is indicated for peripheral arterial occlusive disease. Stage II (intermittent claudication) Raynaud’s phenomenon. Sequelae of stroke, e.g. motor and sensory disorders. Senile dementia. Dosage is 200 mg TID for at least 3 months. Paracetamol and Vitamin B1, B6, B12 – Dolo-Neurobion® is indicated for Neuritis and Neuralgia especially cervical syndrome, shoulder-arm syndrome, lumbalgia, intercostal and trigeminal neuralgia, ischialgia; herpes zoster; post-op pain. Therapeutic dosage is 1-2 tabs TID. |
